PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having high abrasion resistance, high scratch resistance and good electric characteristics, particularly excellent in smoothness of a film owing to uniform curing of all over the whole layer in a crosslinked surface layer and having good cleaning characteristics, highly durable and actually expressing high image quality for a long period of time, and an image forming method, an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge for the image forming apparatus using the photoreceptor having long life and high performance. SOLUTION: A polycarbonate containing two or more distilbene polycarbonate units and the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a layer comprising a polymerization reaction product of the polycarbonate containing two or more distilbene polycarbonate units with a polymerizable charge transfer material having carbon-carbon double bonds are provided.
