PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer facilitating the easy setting of recording sheet to enhance the operability of the printer. SOLUTION: The printer is equipped with a frame body for housing a rolled recording sheet, a cover body which can be opened and closed against the frame body and a print head provided on one side and a platen on the other side of the frame body or the cover body. The print head and the platen are disposed opposing to each other by loading the rolled recording sheet and closing the cover body. A printable state is produced by pressing the rolled recording sheet by a protrusion disposed in the vicinity of the platen and a swingingly-movable press roller. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
