PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical pencil with a stable control power regardless of tolences in part sizes. SOLUTION: The mechanical pencil includes a lead feeding mechanism, an axis 1b with a leading end 1a, and a lead braking part 4, the lead braking part including a vertually cylinderical cramp 7 which stores and fixes a lead with an aperture 6 penetrating in an axial direction and a sliding body radially extended against it which serves as a guide for the lead braking part in an axial direction in a sliding area 3 of the pencil 1. The sliding body sorrounding the cramp 7 with spaces made in a radial direction is configured as a slinding ring 13 connected to the cramp via multiple webs 14 in a radial direction which leave penetrating parts 23 between each other, radially independent protrusions 25 being individually disposed on the wall segments 24 of the sliding rings 13 individually extented between abutting two of the webs.
