PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin selector that prevents a coin sensor for detecting a true coin from being illicitly accessed. SOLUTION: In a coin selector which detects passing of coins on the basis of a signal from a coin sensor disposed downstream of an authenticity determination means formed along a coin pathway where coins moves, a shutter means for allowing passing of coins in a coin rolling direction but not allowing passing of coins in an opposite direction is disposed in the coin pathway in downstream of the coin sensor.
