<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a speaker to emphasize an utterance on the screen of a video conference terminal device as he or she intends and to enable participants in a conference who do not utter to communicate information to one another. <P>SOLUTION: The video conference terminal device 100 can select one of a conference utterance mode for giving utterance so that all the participants in the video conference can hear, an emphasized utterance mode for emphasized display at that time, and an individual utterance mode wherein a specified conference participant is selected to enable only the participant to hear. Those modes are performed by discriminating operation at an indication input section 103 and two microphones 101 and 102 in combination.
