PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device which can quickly retrieve target image data. SOLUTION: The printing device has; a first computation means (characteristics quantity computation part 20j) which computes characteristics quantity from a prescribed image included in image data; a storage means (control part 20c) which stores the characteristics quantity, which is computed by the first computation means, in a storage medium in which the image data are stored; a second computation means (characteristics quantity computation part 20j) which computes characteristics quantity from a prescribed image when the prescribed image is designated; and a retrieval means (control part 20c) which retrieves characteristics quantity, which is similar to the characteristics quantity computed by the second computation means, from the storage medium.
