PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrostatic charge development excellent in charging performance (particularly suppression of reduction in charge amount after allowed to stand in a high temperature and high humidity environment) and fixability, a method for manufacturing the same, a developer for electrostatic charge development, a cartridge and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The toner includes a crystalline polyester resin and a release agent, wherein a structure in which the crystalline polyester resin is in contact with the release agent is present in a ruthenium dyed cross section of the toner, and the relationship of 40≤100×A/(A+B+C)≤70 is satisfied, when A is a cross-sectional area of the structure; B is a cross-sectional area of the release agent; and C is the cross-sectional area of the crystalline polyester resin, and an amount of a residual alcohol component in the toner is 0.1-80 ppm.
