PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve draining performance in a drain valve device for draining water with the own weight of the water. SOLUTION: The draining valve device comprises a housing 10 for defining a fluid passage and defining a valve seat 12 and a drain port 15 at the upper part and at the side part, respectively in an axial direction L, and a valve element 20 reciprocatingly stored therein in the vertical direction for defining a fluid passage composed of a predetermined clearance CL between the inner wall face 13 of the housing and itself, wherein the valve element 20 is seated on the valve seat 12 and closed when receiving a push-up force, and the valve element 20 is opened to drain fluid from the drain port 15 through a predetermined clearance when receiving a push-down force by the energizing force of a spring. A plurality of vertical grooves 13a are formed to partially expand the predetermined clearance CL defined between the valve element 20 and the housing 10. This gives unbalance (disequilibrium) to the surface tension (intermolecular force) of fluid to allow the easy flow of fluid, improves draining performance, and prevents the breakage of the device caused by the freezing of a reserved fluid, dirt caused by the existence of a bacteria, and clogging.
