<p>Desired spectral characteristics are attained by bringing reflective films close each other sufficiently. A variable spectral element (1) comprises a pair of optical substrates (2, 3) opposing each other at a distance, two opposing reflective films (5) arranged, respectively, on the opposing surfaces of the optical substrates (2, 3), two opposing sensor electrodes (6) arranged on the same surface as the reflective film (5) and constituting an interval sensor for detecting the interval between the optical substrates (2, 3), and an actuator (4) for varying the interval between the optical substrates (2, 3) by relatively moving the optical substrates (2, 3). In the variable spectral element(1), the distance between the opposing surfaces of the two sensor electrodes (6) is longer than the distance between the opposing surfaces of the two reflective films (5).</p> |
