<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current collector for an electrode capable of contributing to downsizing/light-weight and high capacity, and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The current collector for electrode is a belt-shape current collector used for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery and has a cut-out of which one end reaches a long side or a short side of the belt-shape current collector. The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a wound battery element in which a separator is wound around interposed between belt-shape electrodes in which an electrode active material layer is formed on both sides of the belt-shape current collector, and an outer package member in which the wound battery element is housed. The belt-shape electrode has an active material layer non-formed part. The belt-shape current collector has the cut-out of which one end reaches the long side or the short side of the belt-shape current collector and a folding-back part. The folding-back part consists of an overlapped portion in which the belt-shape current collector is partially overlapped and a tip portion. The tip portion of the folding-back part protrudes from the long side of the belt-shape current collector.
