<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for controlling a hand-held medical device. <P>SOLUTION: This hand-held medical imaging apparatus (10) includes a click wheel (18), and a hand-held unit (12). In this case, the click wheel (18) is held in one hand (14) of a user (16), and at the same time, is constituted in a manner to be operated by a single finger (20) of the first hand (14). The hand-held unit (12) is constituted to have a display (22) for displaying a medical image (90 or 92).
