<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost, high gradation image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A gradation conversion section 2 fetches N-bit gradation data to convert an N-bit gradation data value P to 2^(N-M)M-bit(M<N) data sets by using an exposure pattern LUT2-1.
