PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photography apparatus which prevents deterioration in picture quality and a heat generation suppressing method for the photography apparatus. SOLUTION: The photography apparatus includes a photography section 1010 which captures subject light, and generates and processes an image signal, a temperature sensor 1004 which measures the temperature of an imaging device 1041 provided in the photography section 1010, and an imaging circuit clock section 1103 which changes a clock for operating the imaging device 1041 according to the temperature measured by the temperature sensor 1004.
