PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a conversion table capable of changing the methods of determining total color material amounts according to a color material amount restriction and accommodating difference in characteristics for every arbitary printer, thereby attaining a highly precise color reproduction. SOLUTION: When a conversion table for converging colors of device color space into colors of color space independent of a device and a reverse conversion table for converting colors of the color space independent of the device into colors of device color space are generated from colorimetry results of a color patch output by a color device having four-dimensional color space including black, black print generation, included in the reverse conversion table generation, for converting colors of three-dimensional color space dependent on the device into the colors of the four-dimensional device color space comprises: calculation of the color material amount total values corresponding to the color material amount limit values; color separation into color elements of the four-dimensional device color space, wherein the color material amount limit values do not exceed the color material amount limit values; and saturation up-conversion of the color-separated color elements based upon black amounts.
