PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly fix a line and improve relief efficiency in redundancy calculation by adding a simple circuit while making efficient use of the existing hardware resources. SOLUTION: A memory relief device 200 comprises a plurality of line counters 220 and 222 equipped for every cell array 14 for counting the number of defective lines of either vertical or horizontal lines of the cell array, adders 230 and 232 for adding all the counted numbers of the preset line counters equipped for respective cell arrays when redundant lines are shared by a preset number of cell arrays, and comparators 240 and 242 for indicating fixing of line when the added value exceeds the number of redundant lines as a result of comparison of the value added by the adder and the number of redundant lines.
