PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain good drivability by restraining internal combustion engine efficiency change caused by air density change of outside air by an internal combustion engine for a vehicle equipped with a variable valve train. SOLUTION: A valve lift amount correction coefficient Katm is calculated from a map MAPatm based on an atmospheric pressure Patm (S108), and a target valve lift amount VLt is calculated by correcting a basic target valve lift amount VLt0 by the valve lift amount correction coefficient Katm (S110). Even when the air density of the outside air is changed by the change of the atmospheric pressure, stable internal combustion engine efficiency can be always exhibited with respect to operation of an accelerator, and a feeling of wrongness with respect to the internal combustion engine efficiency change can be prevented.
