<p>[PROBLEMS] To provide a multilayer sliding member, suitable for use in high-temperature applications where lubricating oils or synthetic resins are not usable, and a method for manufacturing the same, by solving a problem involved in a conventional sliding sheet material, intended for use in a high-temperature range, comprising a metallic mesh material, such as an expanded metal or a metallic mesh, and an expanded graphite integrated with each other, that the strength is poor for use in bearing or other sliding member applications and, consequently, the range of use is limited. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A multilayer sliding member (1) characterized by comprising a metallic back metal (3), a porous bronze sinter layer (4) joined integrally onto the surface of the metallic back metal (3), a metallic mesh material (5), such as an expanded metal (50), joined integrally onto the surface of the metallic back metal (3) through the porous bronze sinter layer (4), and an expanded graphite (8) filled into the mesh of the metallic mesh material (5) and covering the surface of the metallic mesh material (5).</p> |
