<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the trouble that a removable cap of a writing utensil, e.g. a ballpoint pen, a marking pen, etc. can keep it satisfactorily airtight sealed but can easily get lost when removed, and besides, is hazardous for children as evident in the past accident that they swallow the cap. <P>SOLUTION: This cap is contrived in the way that it is divided into two sections, one being a sleeve part which slides on the barrel of a writing utensil and the other being a head part which protects and seals the pen point, and yet these two parts are not completely separable from each other but hinge-connected so that the cap can be freely opened and closed. In order to use this gadget as a pen, the head part is released open and the barrel part is made to slide to the opposite side of the pen point with the head part left as it is. Further, a larger raised portion than the inside diameter of the sleeve part, is formed near both ends of the barrel part so as not to allow the sleeve part to fall off.
