<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric disc-brake which keeps the spring force of a braking-releasing spring and the frictional force of a pad-wear-following adjustment-screw increased without increasing the whole size. <P>SOLUTION: A rotational speed of a rotor 48 of an electric motor 39 is reduced by a speed-reduction mechanism 20, a ball ramp mechanism 19 is operated, and brake pads 4, 5 are pressed to a disc rotor to cause a braking force. The braking is released by the spring force of the coil spring 38C. Adjustment for wear of the brake pads 4, 5 is made by a pad-wear-following mechanism 21. The coil spring 38C is installed on the periphery of the ball-ramp mechanism 19, so a large spring-force is obtained by enlarging the diameter. An external screw 17 and an internal screw 18 of the pad-wear-following-mechanism 21 are installed on the internal circumference (periphery of the motor 39) of a cylinder part 11 of a calliper body 8, thus the diameter of the coil spring is extended to increase the strength and the frictional force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
