<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a vehicle alternator, facilitating inspection by shortening inspection time in a factory. <P>SOLUTION: The controller 14 of the vehicle alternator is provided with signal detecting means 241, 271, 191, 321, 411, 251, 272, 192, 292 and 322 whose output state changes when a prescribed signal is inputted, and overvoltage alarm operation mode switching means 172, 173 and 174 for switching an operation mode of an overvoltage alarm means 17 when the output state of the signal detecting means changes to an inspection operation mode operating at a voltage value less than a prescribed voltage value for a time less than prescribed time.
