PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly convenient information providing system and an information providing method capable of improving the convenience of the information providing system. SOLUTION: A communication device generates second address information by adding a desired restore point in time to first address information indicating the location of information to be accessed on a network, and sends the generated second information to the information providing server through the network. Based on the received second address information, the information providing server restores the corresponding information to its state as of the designated restore point in time, and sends the restored information to the communication device.
