PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC generator for vehicles, capable of improving the cooling performance of a rectifying device. SOLUTION: The AC generator for vehicles is equipped with a cooling fan rotating with a rotor, a stator with a stator winding, a rectifying device rectifying the AC electromotive force generated in the stator winding into DC, and a rear cover covering the rectifying device. The rectifying device includes a plurality of positive side rectifying elements 53, a positive side heat radiation fin 57 having the plurality of positive side rectifying elements 53 attached thereon, and cylindrical sub-fins 500, integrally formed with the positive side heat radiation fin 57 and projected on the rear cover side so as to surround the respective peripheries of the plurality of positive side rectifying elements 53. The positive side heat radiation fin 57 has penetration holes 502 formed to penetrate from the internal space defined by the cylindrical sub-fins 500 to the rear side of the positive side heat radiation fin 57.
