PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform guided scramble coding without reducing coding efficiency in a hologram memory recording/reproducing device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a coding block 1 for adding a redundancy bit to input information to perform error correction coding, a marker generation circuit 2 for generating a marker containing a bit pattern corresponding to the redundancy bit of the error correction code generated by the coding block 1, a recording circuit 3 for generating write data constituted of a bit string obtained by removing the redundancy bit from the error correction code and the marker to record it in a recording medium, and a demodulation block 4 for reproducing the write data from the recording medium to correct an error and then demodulating it to the input information by using the bit pattern corresponding to the redundancy bit contained in the marker.
