PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object recognition apparatus of a digital image, a program and a recording medium, which can improve the recognition accuracy of an object. SOLUTION: A face recognition processing part 5 collates a face image extracted by a face extraction processing part 3 with the face information of a person previously registered in a registered information storage part 4 and calculates similarity between the face image and the face information. A threshold calculation part 7 calculates a recognition threshold based on the information of a digital image at the time of photographing, which is inputted to the apparatus, and the information of a digital image at the time of photographing, in which a person has been already recognized. The face recognition processing part 5 recognizes an object in the digital image inputted to the apparatus on the basis of a result of comparing the similarity with the recognition threshold.
