PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress released heat in case of short circuit failure even if a voltage value of an input voltage is large. SOLUTION: An input voltage Vin input in a voltage input terminal 111 is subjected to voltage adjustment by a P channel MOS transistor 110 for voltage control, and an output voltage Vout which is subjected to the voltage adjustment is output from a voltage output terminal 112. The P channel MOS transistor 110 for voltage control performs the voltage adjustment according to a control voltage Vc sent from a transistor control circuit 130. A short-circuit current can be suppressed as a resistance value of the P channel MOS transistor 110 for voltage control increases because an additional control voltage Va whose value becomes larger as a voltage value of the input voltage Vin becomes larger is input to the P channel MOS transistor 110 for voltage control from a MOS transistor 160 for transistor control in case of the short-circuit failure. Accordingly, a current value of a holding current and the released heat after operating short-circuit protection can be more reduced as the input voltage Vin becomes larger.
