PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll grinding machine which can restrain the cracking of a metal strip surface. SOLUTION: The invented roll grinding machine is equipped with brush rolls 9 which face to the outer circumferential face of cooling rolls 1 over the entire axial length of the cooling rolls 1, cylinders 10 which energize the whole brush rolls 9 toward the cooling rolls 1, and cylinders 11 which deform the brush rolls 9 so as to match the crown of the cooling rolls 1. These components make the wires of the brush rolls 9 uniformly touch the outer circumferential face of the cooling rolls 1 over the entire axial length of the cooling rolls 1, so that oxides attached to the outer circumferential face of the cooling rolls 1 are wiped off.
