PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc welding apparatus which can perform a weaving weld precisely and has a weld torch of a simple structure. SOLUTION: An electrode rod 19 is positioned in a state tilted to an angular displacement axis L1 of the torch. A tip portion 19d of the electrode rod 19 swings with a swing angular around the angular displacement axis of the torch by a torch swing drive means 24. The weaving weld is performed by moving a base part 21 in the welding direction X using a robot 30, while swinging the tip portion 19d of the electrode rod 19. Even when the electrode rod 19 is swung, an intersecting point P1 of the electrode rod 19 with the angular displacement axis L1 of the torch stays without moving in the swing direction. Therefore, even if a bevel width is narrow, the weaving weld can be conducted precisely while preventing the weld torch 22 and the electrode rod 19 from contacting with a work 18 to be welded. Furthermore, this mechanism does not swing and move the electrode rod 19 in relation to the weld torch 22, so that the structure can be simplified. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
