PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar coater capable of preventing a coating unevenness from occurring on a coating object. SOLUTION: The bar coater includes: a bar 8 for coating a flexible support 2 with a coating liquid 3; a first supporting block 21 disposed below the bar 8 and for rotatably supporting the bar 8 at an upstream portion 21a and a downstream portion 21b; an intermediate plate 24 attached to a side surface 21c of the first supporting block 21 on the upstream side of the first supporting block 21 with respect to the conveying direction A of the flexible support 2, and disposed with the upper part upwardly projected from the upstream portion 21a of the first supporting block 21 to keep a contact with the outer peripheral surface on the upstream side of the bar 8; and a second supporting block disposed on the upstream side of the intermediate plate 24 with respect to the conveying direction A, and has a groove part 22f constituting a slit 28 for supplying the coating liquid 3 together with the intermediate plate 24.
