PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery sewing machine capable of performing safe embroidery sewing in the embroidery sewing machine provided with a turnable Y direction moving mechanism. SOLUTION: When a Y direction moving arm 1 is at an embroiderable position, a turning shaft 21 is pushed down and a fixing projection 22 and a groove 43 are engaged, a microswitch 6 is turned on. By on-signals, an XY motor operation inhibition/cancellation device 87 cancels the drive inhibition of XY motors 15 and 46 so as to be driven. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
