The invention relates to an apparatus comprising an antenna device including: a conductive surface (4) forming the "mass"; a main conductive plate (5) having a symmetry axis (AA) and separated from the mass by a dielectric (1); two short-circuit zones (7, 8) connected to the mass, emerging close to the two sides of the main plate and arranged symmetrically in relation to the symmetry axis; and first and second sets of switches (17, 18) respectively connecting the first and second short-circuit zones (7, 8) to the corresponding adjacent side of the main plate. The apparatus also includes control means (17, 18) arranged to control the opening and closing of the switches from the first and second sets, such that when the switches from one set are open, the switches from the other set are closed in order to produce a polarisation-agile antenna device.
