APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DISCRIMINATING OUTER STIMULUS OF ROBOT

An apparatus and a method of discriminating an outer stimulus of a robot are provided to discriminate an existence and a position of the outer stimulus using fewer sensors by analyzing a pattern of vibration of a motor generated by the outer stimulus. An apparatus of discriminating an outer stimulus in a robot comprises a vibration pattern detecting unit(10), a vibration pattern comparison unit(20) and a driver(30). The vibration pattern detecting unit detects a vibration pattern of a motor which is shaken by the outer stimulus. The vibration pattern comparison unit compares the detected vibration pattern with a vibration pattern stored in a storage unit(40) to output a result. The driver analyzes the compared result to drive such that the robot performs an operation.
