摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the temperature of a catalyst layer by separating the catalyst layer from a steam reforming process and to rapidly and safely stop the operation without affecting a system and the environment, in a fuel reforming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel reforming apparatus 10 wherein a reformer 3, a carbon monoxide converter 4 and a carbon monoxide selective oxidizer 5 are arranged in series, a first cooling part 6 is installed at the outer periphery of the carbon monoxide converter 4 and a second cooling part 7 is installed at the outer periphery of the carbon monoxide selective oxidizer 5. The first cooling part 6 and the second cooling part 7 are independent of the steam reforming process. When the temperature of the catalyst layer exceeds a thermorunaway judgment temperature, an electromagnetic opening/closing valve 8c is opened by a controller 9, and a cooling water is allowed to flow to the first and second cooling parts 6,7 from a cooling water tank 8 to cool the catalyst layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
