<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety such as during maintenance in an auxiliary power source. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing unit for a copying machine provided with this power source apparatus is heated by heating bodies 201 to 203 driven by a commercial AC power source 208 and an auxiliary heating body 204 driven by an auxiliary power source apparatus 210. A control part 211 has a switch 225 connected to the auxiliary heating body 204 side when supplying power from the auxiliary power source apparatus 210 to the auxiliary heating body 204 and the switch 225 is connected to a charging unit 231 side when charging the auxiliary power source apparatus 210. Then, when a main power source switch 250 is turned off, the control part 211 has the switch 225 not connected to either one.
