<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a display panel surface and the position of an object located in the upper surface space thereof to perform corresponding display control. <P>SOLUTION: A contact position at which an electrostatic capacitance sensor means composed of a wire electrode or a point electrode touches a display panel surface and a position (spatial position) of a fingertip opposed to the display panel surface are detected as change of electrostatic capacity. The detecting resolution for the fingertip is switched to be higher as the fingertip gets closer to the display panel surface. In relation to adjustment of the detecting resolution, it is preferred to adjust also the detecting sensitivity to be lower as the fingertip gets closer to the display panel surface. When the position of the fingertip on the display panel is detected, the display state of information (image) displayed on a two-dimensional display means (LCD or the like) is controlled according to the movement of the fingertip, and the display state is changed based on the position in the detecting space of the fingertip or the movement or trace thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
