PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by automatically stopping carrier sense if radio communication environment is deteriorated when the intermittent carrier sense is performed. SOLUTION: A wireless LAN module 20 detects C/N ratio by a C/N detection circuit 23 included in an RF circuit part 21 in the carrier sense, judges a level of the present wireless LAN environment based on the detected C/N ratio and specifies setting content corresponding to the judged level from a setting table 40. If the wireless LAN environment is at a communicable level, the wireless LAN module 20 changes interval time between carrier senses based on the setting table 40 and when the wireless LAN environment is at a level that it is not connectable to an access point, automatically stops the carrier sense to suppress wasteful power consumption.
