PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power saving circuit which is reduced in the number of part items and suppressed in power consumption. SOLUTION: The power saving circuit is constituted in such a manner that a rectifying bridge B1 is connected to an AC terminal of an AC power supply CN1 to rectify a current, the rectified current is switched by utilizing a switching element Q1 of a switching circuit 10, and a switching signal is outputted to the switching element Q1 by a pulse oscillating circuit IC71. Furthermore, a series capacitor C6 is connected to the AC terminal CN1 in series thereto, and a half-wave rectifying means B2 is connected to the other end of the series capacitor C6. In the half-wave rectifying means B2, a first diode D71 is arranged between a single AC pole and a DC positive pole, a second diode D72 is arranged between the single AC pole and a DC negative pole, and the pulse oscillating circuit IC71 is connected between the DC positive pole and the DC negative pole of the half-wave rectifying means B2.
