PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a concrete-filled steel pipe column, which improves a conventional concrete-filled steel pipe column manufactured by filling concrete in the entire body of a steel pipe columnar body, and achieves weight reduction and cost reduction while ensuring the same necessary strength as that of the conventional one. SOLUTION: The concrete-filled steel pipe column light in weight and low in cost is manufactured in order to reinforce the interior of the steel pipe columnar body by setting a necessary minimum reinforcing area and covering the reinforcing area. To set the reinforcing area, firstly a necessary bending moment is calculated based on a height of a point of action of a load of the steel pipe columnar body and a load applied to the same, and a strength (yield bending moment) only of the steel pipe columnar body is calculated. Then by comparing the necessary bending moment with the yield bending moment, a deficit moment is calculated, and the necessary minimum reinforcing area is set.
