PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio wave absorbing woven fabric having sufficient wave-absorbing performance in a building as well as heat-insulating and sound-absorbing properties, and extremely light weight to give excellent handleability and workability as a building material. SOLUTION: The radio wave absorbing woven fabric 1 is produced by producing a woven fabric 1A by a loom in a manner to place three highly shrinkable yarns 4 shrinking with heat and one carbon yarn 3 composed of carbon fibers between a large number of yarns 2 composed of a rayon fiber kneaded with a powder of Bincho charcoal at a prescribed interval of 25 mm, and heating the fabric at a prescribed temperature to effect the shrinkage of the highly shrinkable yarns 4 to bend and bulge the large number of yarns 2 surrounded by the highly shrinkable yarns 4 placed in a lattice form. At the same time, the carbon yarn 3 composed of carbon fibers and woven adjacent to the highly shrinkable yarns 4 in a lattice form is also slackened. The wave-absorbing woven fabric 1 exhibits radio wave-absorbing characteristics by the carbon yarns 3 interlaced in a slackened state in longitudinal and lateral directions.
