PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound useful for inducing cytokine biosynthesis in animal bodies. SOLUTION: The compound is 1-(2-methylpropyl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-c][1,5] naphthyridin-4-amine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The pharmaceutical composition containing a pharmaceutically effective amount of the compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier is provided. The effective amount of the compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and for inducing the biosynthesis of animal cytokine is administered to animals.
