A TFT LCD(Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) array substrate and a method of manufacturing the TFT LCD array substrate are provided to form a common electrode in a region other than a pixel region to improve an aperture ratio and increase storage capacitance using a light-blocking plate. A TFT LCD array substrate includes a substrate, at least one gate line(101), at least one data line(105), a pixel electrode(110), a TFT, and at least one common electrode(111). The gate line and the data line are formed on the substrate and intersect each other to define at least one pixel region. The pixel electrode is formed in the pixel region. The TFT includes a gate electrode(102) formed in the pixel region and connected to the gate line, first source and drain electrodes(106,107) connected to the data line, and second source and drain electrodes connected to the pixel electrode. The common electrode is formed on the substrate in parallel with the data line. The TFT LCD array substrate further includes a light-blocking plate(112) located in a region surrounding the pixel electrode. |
