PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an application information acquisition method that can acquire accurate application information associated with an application required for determining whether the application can be installable or not.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus in which applications can be installed is provided with the application information acquisition means for obtaining the application information used for determining whether or not an application can be installed in the image forming apparatus.
