PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery management system and its driving method. SOLUTION: The battery management system includes a sensing part and an MCU. The sensing part executes sampling of a cell voltage during respective different periods of a period when traveling and a period when parking or stopping. The MCU distinguishes the period when traveling from the period when parking or stopping and controls the sensing part so as to allow it to execute sampling for each first cycle when traveling and to execute sampling for each second cycle when parking or stopping. By this, it is possible to secure stability when traveling and to secure capacitor stabilization time and sufficient time that allows correction in a differential amplifying stage when parking or stopping.
