PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of deterioration in optical characteristics caused by deviation of an optical fiber in the manufacturing step of a multiple optical fiber collimator. SOLUTION: In the structure of fusion splicing optical fibers 101, 102 to a collimator lens 103 by electrical discharge, the end of the optical fibers 101, 102 are obliquely cut to have slopes 101a, 102a. Then, for the purpose of reversing the direction of the slope 101a against that of the slope 102a, one optical fiber is rotated 180°around the optical axis relative to the other optical fiber. As a result, even in the occurrence of positional deviation of the optical fibers in fusion splicing, deterioration due to the loss can be reduced in the optical signals that are transmitted from one optical fiber, to the collimator lens 103, to a reflector 104, to the collimator lens 103, and to the other optical fiber.
