A coding/decoding apparatus using bit-precision and a recording medium including a program thereof are provided to reduce complexity by eliminating additional calculation in a motion picture decoding process. A coding/decoding apparatus using bit-precision includes a bit-precision selection unit(110) and a coding unit(120). The bit-precision selection unit selects a bit-precision value corresponding to coding data. The coding unit generates a bit stream by coding the data according to the selected bit-precision value. The selected bit-precision value is inserted into the bit stream. The bit-precision selection unit selects the bit-precision value corresponding to one of a field unit of data, a class unit of data, and a combination of the field unit of data and the class unit of data.
