<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight seal which has an improved processing speed and durability by dint of mechanical strength of a polymer adhesive seal as well as inertness of a frit seal. <P>SOLUTION: A glass package is provided with a first substrate, a second substrate, frit which combines the first substrate with the second substrate, and a polymer adhesive which further combines the first substrate with the second substrate. At least a part of the first substrate is positioned and lapped on at least a part of the second substrate. The frit is composed of a glass part containing a basic component containing SiO<SB>2</SB>of by about 5 to about 75 mol%, B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>by about 10 to about 40 mol% and Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>by 0 to about 20 mol%, and an absorbing component of at least one kind containing either (a) CuO by 0 to about 25 mol% or (b) Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>by more than 0 to about 10 mol%, V<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>by more than 0 to about 10 mol%, and TiO<SB>2</SB>by 0 to about 5 mol%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
