摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric converter, having small-scale circuit configuration and enabling differential amplification between a signal, corresponding to charge detected at an imaging section and a signal from a reference pixel that is not exposed to light or a signal equivalent to average light detected at the imaging section, and to provide a focus detector that has the photoelectric converter. <P>SOLUTION: The non-inverted terminal of a differential amplification circuit 124 is connected to the output of a pixel output circuit 113 for selecting an opening pixel component in pixel rows 111a, 111b, 111c. An inverted terminal is connected to the output of a selection circuit 123, where one output is connected to the output of a reference signal selection circuit 122 for selecting the reference pixel component in the pixel rows 111a, 111b, 111c, and the other is connected to the output of a storage completion voltage generating section 140, which is a reference voltage completing the storage of the charge in each pixel row.
