STEROID DERIVATIVE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND APOPTOSIS-INDUCING AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new steroid derivative obtained from the fruit body or its crushed material of Agaricus blazei, a method for producing the same and an apoptosis-inducing agent obtained from the fruit body or its crushed material of the Agaricus blazei.

SOLUTION: This new steroid derivative as an active ingredient of the apoptosis-inducing agent can be obtained by extracting the fruit body or its crushed material of the Agaricus blazei with an organic solvent and performing a purification by a chromatography. The steroid is a normal steroid having hydroxy groups at positions 3 and 5, a methoxy group at position 6, a double bond between positions 7 and 8 and a 9C branched olefin group at position 17.
