<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a high-quality image without complicating processing. <P>SOLUTION: Image data are converted into either first standard gradation ink quantity data or high-gradation ink quality data by determining an image data processing method. Subsequently, the gradation resolution of the high-gradation ink quality data is converted into standard gradation resolution, so that second standard gradation ink quantity data can be generated. After that, the image corresponding to the image data is output on the basis of the first or second standard gradation ink quantity data. Thus, this image output unit can output the high-quality image, while suppressing adverse effects such as the complication of control for outputting the image, or an increase in the used amount of a computer resource of a memory etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
