PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain water-based ink for a ballpoint pen, which has a long distance to write even in using a ballpoint pen having a diameter of≤0.3 mm and provides handwriting with little blur. SOLUTION: The water-based ink for a ballpoint pen has a value A in the range of -0.3 to 0.3 in an approximate linear formula of Y=AlnX+B in X in a range of 0.1 Pa to 1.0 Pa when the ink comprises a xanthan gum and an N-acylamino acid amine, stress is X and the complex modulus of elasticity of the ink is Y.
