PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for solving problems of position selectivity upon distributing spacer beads on a color filter base material, maintaining adhesiveness between the spacer beads and the base material and inexpensively depositing the spacer beads. SOLUTION: A method for forming spacer beads on a color filter base material is provided, which is the method for placing spacer beads at predetermined positions on a color filter base material, characterized in that an adhesive ink pattern is disposed in a part of the top surface of a black matrix (BM) pattern of the color filter; spacer beads are dispersed thereon; the adhesive ink is cured, and then the spacer beads not deposited on the adhesive ink pattern are removed.
